5 Tips for a Stress Free Move

No matter how exciting your reasons for moving to a new home may be, the move itself is always stressful. Here is a worry free checklist to help you keep everything in line.

  1. Notify Your Contacts Of Your New Address

Of course, you will want to let friends and family know you are moving, but don’t forget to also notify any organizations you need to stay in contact with, such as your place of work, your bank, or maybe even your gym!

  1. Hire Movers

If you want to avoid stress, I highly recommend that you hire professional movers. Make sure that you make a thorough list of your belongings and consider in advance how they will fit into the moving truck.

  1. Pack Smart

Make sure that you have plenty of packing supplies before you get started. Keep a permanent marker handy so that you can write each box’s contents on the outside. Remember not to make your boxes too heavy. Even if you’re superman, a 50 lb. box can be your kryptonite.

  1. Be Prepared

If there is any packing left to do, finish it before the last minute. Pack an overnight bag for your first few days in your new home, just in case you don’t unpack as quickly as you’d planned.

  1. Relax!

The day is finally here, don’t let it overwhelm you. Take it one step at a time, and before you know it you will be settling in for a cozy night in your new home.
